Celebrating 120 years of excellence in youth music
Our Young at Heart Appeal aims to shine a spotlight on 120 years of combined youth music making in London and invite businesses, charitable trusts, individuals – parents and music-enthusiasts alike – to help build our Bursary Fund to raise £1 million to enable 1,000 more students to attend CYM and benefit from the opportunities of membership of the LSSO over the next decade.
Our Target
To achieve our aim we held an online concert in June 2020 and several other online fundraising events, culminating in a special Anniversary Concert at the Barbican, where CYM joined forces with the LSSO to mark 120 years of music-making.
CYM is one of the only places that offers such diversity in music and gives young people the opportunity to try out different types of music, from classical to jazz and I want to help young kids have the opportunity to go there, like I did. JB Gill
Support Us
The Centre for Young Musicians (CYM) relies on support from music lovers who want to help young people continue their music education regardless of their family circumstance. Your generosity also benefits our music tutors, who as freelance musicians and like so many in the Arts world, have been short of work in the past few months owing to the pandemic.
If you would simply like to make a donation – any amount is extremely welcome and the Foundation for Young Musicians (FYM) can reclaim Gift Aid (if eligible) making your support worth 25% more to CYM.
You can also support CYM by joining our Patron Scheme.
We also have an offer for your business, to help you meet your CSR objectives, find out more.
