In addition to the main Saturday Centre the Centre for Young Musicians organises a range of Holiday Courses, which are open to all of London’s young musicians regardless of attending CYM during term time.
Grade 5 Theory
Each April we hold a day course to support students taking Grade 5 theory. This course is designed for students who have been working through the Grade 5 theory syllabus and are looking to take the exam in the summer.
The next Grade 5 Theory course will be held in April 2023. Details and application forms will be available in the Spring Term.
Junior and Intermediate Summer Courses
Open access courses (no audition needed) which offer a stimulating, friendly, and highly enjoyable musical experience for children aged from 7 to 16. The courses are led by specialist tutors working alongside a caring team of pastoral staff and are designed to provide a progressive musical pathway for children, complimenting their regular term time activities both in and out of school.
The courses culminate in an informal performance open to parents and friends and include ensemble playing, orchestra, singing and creative work.

Holiday Orchestras & Ensembles
CYM London manages the London Schools Symphony Orchestra, London Schools Chamber Orchestra and the London Youth Wind Band (LSSO, LSCO, LYWB) during school holiday periods. Find out more about the orchestras here.
