Jazz at CYM
Many CYM students are interested in jazz and improvisation and there are excellent opportunities at the Saturday Centre. There are progressive ensembles for all instrumentalists led by Steve Lodder and Shanti Jayasinha and a jazz harmony class tutored by Bruno Heinen. The CYM Dance Band is directed by Peter Shrubshall and the CYM Saxophone Ensemble by Luke Annersley. The CYM Advanced Jazz Ensemble and CYM Dance Band have performed at St. John’s, Smith Square, at The Barbican Centre and at the South Bank Centre.
